Workshop / arsis.dev
arsis.dev
The workshop’s own site: a register of what Arsis decides, measures, corrects and abandons, with each claim marked by how it is known.
- State
- On 16 Oct 2026 the register is the site in the repository, but it is not online: the domain answers HTTP 503 and the deployment step is still open. m
- Runs on
- Static pages served by nginx in a Docker container; a netcup server behind Cloudflare is planned
- Built with
- Astro 5, TypeScript data files, plain CSS, Source Serif 4 (OFL, self-hosted)
- Data
- Typed files, no database; no cookies, no audience measurement
- Code
- Private repository
Known limits
- Few register entries carry a re-check date or a stack of determinations, although the rules ask for both. m
- Activity figures in the Workshop are a snapshot of 14 Oct, refreshed by hand. m
- Git dates do not date the work: commits were often made in groups. m
- The 46 earlier prototypes (A to AV) are kept but not published; their dates come from plans and file times. e
Sources and questions
- Inquiry: Frictional realism
Register · 7 entries
- decision
The form was fixed as the register in a bibliography style with a timeline layer, with one status per claim, a stack of dated determinations, re-check dates and visible corrections. m
- milestone
The register prototype became the site: the older pages that named clients were retired, a build guard now fails on any client name, and Source Serif 4 is served from the site itself. m
- decision
The register was adopted as the form of the site: every entry dated and stating how it is known. m
- decision
The site will show the workshop and its work, not the person behind it. m
- pause
After two rounds of mockups, seven pages in all, the first release planned for 16 October was postponed without a new date. m
- milestone
By 1 October 2026 the site had gone through 46 homepage and design prototypes, none published, the last 23 built from rules rather than from references. e
re-check by 16 Nov · now estimated
- milestone
The site was started on 11 February 2026 with Astro, Tailwind and a Docker image, and had its first pages, themes and content collections within the day. m
